Problem & Partnership

Boost's founder, approached Polyform with a clear insight: creative Gen Z earners—illustrators, baristas, freelancers—are managing multiple income streams but lack tools that truly understand their financial complexity. Traditional budgeting apps fell flat for users whose cash flow varies weekly, so our challenge was to build a system that speaks their language: clear, visual, flexible, and genuinely helpful.

During discovery we ran interviews with side-hustlers and analyzed competing finance apps. We learned that users wanted a tool that not only tracked income and expenses but guided them toward “what to do next.” From that insight we defined a suite of features driven by AI forecasting, personalized cashflow updates, and playful yet trustworthy branding.

Project Description

Polyform crafted an AI-powered mobile experience built in React Native, offering story-style daily financial health snapshots, flexible forecasting tools, and one-click debt paydown plans. We built an LLM-backed chatbot that could tag expenses, suggest budgeting actions, and visualize future scenarios. All insights were wrapped in a vibrant, expressive UI—complete with a hot air balloon logo that subtly signals upward progress and built trust with a creative audience.

The brand language leans into messiness and authenticity: "visually dope" aesthetics that let users see themselves reflected back—honest, non-judgemental, and encouraging. Our design makes financial wellness feel approachable, not alarming.
