Problem & Partnership
Nooks approached Polyform in 2021 with a rough video-chat prototype and backing from Andreessen Horowitz. They had impressive tech but lacked clear direction. Through research into user behavior and early pilot data, sales teams emerged as the natural focus, using Nooks to mimic in-office coaching, drop-in calls, and shared call listening. Armed with that insight, we reshaped the product from generic video chat into a dedicated virtual sales floor.
Polyform worked closely with Nooks’ founding team to rapidly define features, architecture, UX, UI system, and brand. Together, we embedded ourselves in their engineering sprints, building with purpose and iterating live. The result was a distinct product positioned not as another conferencing tool, but as a specialized platform for sales collaboration and coaching.
Project Description
We created a full design system, brand identity, marketing toolkit, and UI tuned specifically for sales dynamics. Key features like drop-in room access, live call shadowing, and in-call coaching were integrated from the ground up—not added later. Every element was intentionally designed to support real-time peer learning and manager enablement on the sales floor.
Rather than copying Zoom, we leaned into niche behavior: automatically transcription, coachable feedback, and seamless role transitions. The live experience felt like being “on the floor” together—even when remote. It was a true product-first redesign of video chat for sales teams.
