Crafting rich, playable crime narratives with Gemini-powered AI, modular storytelling blocks, and real-world detail mapping.
Problem & Partnership
Wolf Games, backed by creator Elliot Wolf (son of Law & Order founder), approached Polyform to design their Case Maker Studio, a web app that lets creators build immersive, non-linear crime stories. With a $4 M seed round in hand they needed a UX and product strategy that could scale complex narrative tools into an intuitive platform.
We started with deep research, including writer workflows, interactive fiction needs, and path mapping, and identified key personas: screenwriters seeking fast AI integration and gamewriters structuring branching plots. Our discovery work shaped a modular architecture with relationship visualizations, location-based story adaptation, and flexible narrative blocks—everything designed to support creativity and scale.
Project Description
Polyform led end-to-end UX design and web-app prototyping, from wireframes to polished UI. We introduced modular story block, case components for clues, scenes, motives, and timelines, drop-and-drag enabled, so writers could craft structured mysteries without friction. Dynamic relationship maps surfaced character connections and alliances. Geolocation tools ensured plots felt grounded in real-world cultural contexts.
The AI engine, built on Gemini 2.5 and Gemini 2.0 Flash, powers the backend, prompt composer scripting, RAG pipelines, and AI-generated stories enriched with interview clips, evidence photos, and narrative consistency. Polyform's work was highlighted by Google and Dribbble for UX excellence.
